NaikMotor – Pembalap Monster Energy Yamaha, Maverick Vinales terdepan di kualifikasi (QTT) di Spielberg. Di QTT MotoGP 2020 Austria, (15/8/2020), Vinales menggunakan kombinasi ban medium-soft.
Vinales mencatatkan waktu 1:23,450 di kualifikasi seri Austria itu. Sebelumnya menjelang sesi kualifikasi berakhir, masih dikuasai Pembalap Pramac Ducati, Jack Miller, tetapi Vinales lebih cepat 0,068 detik kemudian.
Di posisi ke-3 ditempati pemegang pemimpin klasemen, Fabio Quartararo-Petronas SRT Yamaha. Quartararo juga sempat memimpin, namun Vinales kemudian mengatasinya.
Bahkan, Quartararo sempat melorot ke posisi ke-6. Namun, setelah berganti ban baru, Pembalap asal Perancis itu bisa mendekati Vinales dan Miller di posisi ke-3. (Afid/nm)
